Study Introduction This initial study is being conducted to develop an understanding of how accurately and timely digital forensic practitioner answers various questions given sample data. All results will be anonymous and cannot be attributed to the study participant. Description of the Study / Instructions This study will utilize the participant’s responses to this Magnet Forensics Capture the Flag (CTF) powered by Hexordia competition to evaluate the accuracy and timeliness of responses based on participant experience, training, and certification. This data will assist to create a benchmark to compare various efforts to analyze the same data. Aside from the completion of the demographic information below, there is no other action required of the study participant. Possible Risks or Discomforts The study does not contain any graphic or sensitive questions. There are no anticipated risks or discomforts to those participating in the study. Benefits You will not receive any direct benefits from participating in this study. However, we hope you will participate because your answers will help the digital forensic community. Voluntary Participation Your participation is completely voluntary. There are no penalties for not participating. You may exit this study by contacting ctf@heoxordia.com prior to completion of the study. Data Privacy / Confidentiality The data collected in this study will only be used for statistical or research purposes. No personal identifying data will provided to the study investigators. All information provided below as well as all participant responses will be collected, anonymized, then provided to study investigators. That information will be retained anonymously. There will be no link between the accuracy of responses to any individual study participant. Study investigators will not review any CTF leaderboard information.
